HI Achim,
Yes, thank you very much I am looking into it. DO you know if other types of shading such as roller blinds or insect screen that are in GSLedit have been implemented into ESP-r? I am using a December 2011 version of the source code, do I need to download the most recent version in order to use the additions you were describing? Finally, I would like to model the shading effect of awnings and the opening and closing, what the best way to go along with it do you and anyone else in the ESP-r community think would be?
Thank you,
Regards
Arianna

Hi Arianna,
have you tried setting up a CFC? As opposed to the traditional transparent surfaces, control of CFCs is set up with menus in prj similar to zone control. Yes, you can open and close (actually raise and lower >or< set slat angle) based on solar radiation on the CFC surface.
Best

Dear Arianna,
probably looking at CFCs and the according test model (in tester) is the best way forward if you want any kind of flexibility with venetian type blinds. I would recommend using development_branch version, as there have recently been great additions to the CFC functionality. For the background and details look for Bart Lomanowskis thesis (which is available online, I think).
Best

Dear All,
I am starting to model some external shading with ESP-r and I would like to know if there is a version of the code that can control the opening and closing of the devices. I would also like to know if there are ways to model venetian blinds and eventually existing models that use them. Thank you very much in advance!

Arianna
