The ESP-r Cookbook is intended to support users of ESP-r on all the different
computer platforms. There are minor differences between the classic X11
interface which runs on all platforms except native Windows, and the alternative
GTK-based interface. The interface has evolved more quickly than the Cookbook
so the match is not exact. The Cookbook discusses methodology and strategies
and model quality assurance. It does not cover numerical methods - for that
you should look for Prof Joe Clarke's book.

If you downloaded the native windows version from the download
site be aware that there is a newer version which I can send a link for.

The chapter on detailed systems does provide background on how to
plan and describe HVAC systems within a model. The discussion could
be improved. We are working to add better example models. Creating
explicit systems requires attention to detail.

The Cookbook does not describe how to incorporate PCM into a building envelope.
I attach a link to a PDF from 2009 which describes the process.

Subject: [esp-r] ESP-r learner about PCM wallboard/room

Dear sir:
I'm a novice learning ESP-r, in the learning process there are several problems which I don't solve. Could you recommend some learning tutorial about complete simulation process, principle and key points of simulation? The ESP-r cookbook have been download, but the contents which is different to my software (windows) I felt. And how to add HVAC system into a model? How to add PCM into building envelope?
Waiting your reply.
Jingyu Huang
