[esp-r] about graphics windowing on Cygwin

I am updating the guidance about the use of Cygwin (I downloaded a fresh
Cygwin and am updating the documentation to match this).  One topic
that is rather terse is about the graphic environment - I tend to run
startxwin so that I have a graphic X11 terminal in addition to
the text command terminal.  This is a minimalist approach which
takes minimal resources and it would be good to talk about options.  

I am sure there are ways to start up a window manager and dock that is more 
in the line of what one would see on Linux boxes.  It might require
additional package installs so that would also be good to know. I
asked for the full Gnome set.

Any suggestions or dot files or instructions would be appreciated.
