[esp-r] Re: Error converting climatefile

Dear Jon and list,

After studying the climatefile day by day in a spreadsheat and in the clm module I have located the trouble with the climatefile. The ascii-version looks fine but the analysis of the binary-verion within the clm-module revealed a shift of data from day to nighttime and to other days???? which causes the strange output for solar incidence, cf. attached files.

This seems like an issue with the conversion from ascii to binary. Has anyone encountered this before and is there a workaround for this?

Dear Jon,

Thank you very much for you post. Attached you will find the climatefile. I get an resulting file from the conversion but my concern is that the insolation on 1x1x1m3 box diviade too much from results in another simulation programme.

The incident insolation from the other programme is:
North: 241 kWh/m2 (ESP-r 504 kWh/m2)
South: 765 kWh/m2 (ESP-r 347 kWh/m2)
East: 544 kWh/m2 (ESP-r 619 kWh/m2)
West: 566 kWh/m2 (ESP-r 593 kWh/m2)
Roof: 927 kWh/m2 (ESP-r 472 kWh/m2)

It could look like I switched north and south but 180dg is set to south.

Best regards

Per

It might report an error, but is there a binary file and does it contain
information that looks ok (the last hour might be incorrect)?

Can you send me the climate file to have a look at?

Dear list,

ESP-r reports the following error "Warning:  In  0,33,0,22,178,83," referring to the last line in the climatefile when converting from ascii to binary format.

Below is a summary of the climatefile:

I have not included the optional day separator.

Does anyone have an idea of what can be wrong?

Best regards
