This is to make you aware of 2 PhD vacancies in our group.

The first PhD position is part of the EOS-LT project Climate Adaptive Greenhouse: Inverse Modelling (CAGIM), which will be carried out in collaboration with De Haagse Hogeschool, Wageningen University, TNO, TU Delft and Kenlog. The ultimate goal of CAGIM is to deliver a substantial contribution towards meeting the targets that are set out in energy transition paths for the horticultural sector. This will be achieved by developing innovative greenhouse concepts with adaptable properties aiming at maximizing energy efficiency while respecting optimal growing conditions for crops.
This PhD project mainly focuses on research, development and validation of the inverse modeling approach (IMA) for climate adaptive greenhouses.

The second PhD position is part of the large Dutch Research Programme "Climate Proof Cities" in which a large number of universities and research institutes are involved. The aim of this programme is to provide the knowledge that is necessary for adapting the built environment to be able to cope with climate change.
This PhD project mainly focuses on a wide range of adaptation measures that will be evaluated for indoor building environmental performance (thermal comfort - overheating) and heating and cooling energy consumption. "High-resolution whole-building simulation" will be employed for different climate scenarios and for a typological building classification. The high-resolution whole-building approach will be expanded to take into account user behavior.
