ESP-r creates not-well-formed surfaces if the offsets X and Y is zero. This was
a problem for a number of users and this change prevents this kind of error. The
current minimum offsets are about 25mm which allows you to get quite close
to the edge of the parent surface without corrupting the parent surface.
If you want to create a door that touches the left or right edge of the parent
surface then you should manually create new vertices and link them to form the
door and manually revise the parent surface. If you have a window that touches
the base of the parent surface you have (topologically) a door.

Subject: [esp-r] Insert Surface Function ESP-r 11.9 GCC4 version
Hello ESP-r Support Network,
It seems that the insert surface function has changed between the Native Windows version ESP-r 11.8 GCC4 and ESP-r 11.9 GCC4 version.
While inserting a new surface into an existing surface the 11.9 version of ESP-r has an origin offset limit of 0.025 m in the X and Z directions. Version 11.8 does not have this limit.
What is the reason for adding this feature? Is there a way to insert a new surface into an existing surface with an origin (X , Y) offset of (0 , 0)? Or is there a way to bypass this limitation? Also, it does not seem like the cancel function works in this menu option.
Responses are appreciated,
Ian
