[esp-r] Re: about ISH improvements

The current version of ESP-r provides the following:

a) ASCII version of ish db is automatically created when new calculations are performed. A binary
file can be created from the ASCII (via a command line facility).  This is used, for
example when re-compiling ESP-r to save a lot of time in creating the exemplar models.

b)  zone self-shading - not yet in place, many people have asked for this.  We might try
   to first implement it with non-complex polygons (e.g. without holes).

c) obstruction blocks can rotate around 2 axis.  Obstruction block vertices can be
    edited to allow non-rectangular six sided shapes

d) dual rotated obstructions are not yet written out in a radiance file.

Hi,

on the ESRU website the planned (and others) improvements of the ISH calculations are provided. Are these features actually under development :

- ASCII version of ISH db (output, and perhaps input ?),
- zone self-shading,
- generalised obstructions blocks, with many rotations, or surface definition like others surfaces in esp-r,
- Radiance use ?

Do you think that the development of an input routine for ASCII ISH db is an easy operation ?
