[esp-r] Re: surface topology problem

A question about linking surfaces in zones together to create a model

ESP-r needs to know the boundary conditions for each surface - e.g. is this
surface adjacent to the outside or to a constant temperature or to a
specific surface in another zone. The tag ANOTHER says that there
is an associate with another zone BUT there are two additional items
that specify which zone and which surface. The email below seems to
indicate that the setting of the additional items was not completed.

There is a menu in the project manager :
 browse/edit/simulate -> zone composition -> surface connections & boundary

which allows prj to search through each of the polygons that make up a model
to see if some are likely to represent surfaces in adjacent zones which are
likely to have thermophysical connections. If there is a close match geometrically
for the polygons then the association is created. If no other surface is found
that is a geometric match then the interface asks you want you want to do.

This process is quite a bit quicker than setting the details in the
zone composition -> geometry -> surface attributes
menu for each surface individually.

In ESP-r the word 'topology' is used in two contexts -
a) the list of edges which make up each polygon and if correct
results in a zone properly bounded message
b) the thermophysical connection between each surface and a
   boundary condition

Subject: [esp-r] surface topology problem

i am using esp-r native windows version 11.7
i was able to build my structure with 6 zones without copying surfaces from other zones. after completing all zones, i made a 'variant' of the completed zones by adding the suffix "copy1".
i built each zone separately and then just updated the 'construction' and 'environment' for each surface. all surfaces that are shared by other zones have the 'environment' attribute tagged as "ANOTHER". and checking that the other surface has the same surface type, location, and construction.

but when trying to simulate, this error pops up:

A model with inconsistent surface topology attributes
might fail when simulated. This will list where.
found surface attribute... ANOTHER
Boundary looking for EXTER in Wctrlnorth:controlroom
connection is... 12 Wctrlnorth in controlroom is External
found surface attribute... ANOTHER

although checking the surface-vertex topology of one of the zones, this is the message: Enclosure is fully bounded.

what could be the problem/s in my model?

attached is the zone 'controlroom' con and geo files.
