This email question might be of interest to those who are attempting to
build a fresh version of ESP-r version 11.7....

In response to the email below....the first was about whether or not to
include the XML and the second was about an error during the compile
process.

The Install script has changed. It is not possible just to type in the comand "Install" you
have to give it a few more parameters now. The error message in the 2nd screen shot said that gfortran
was not found. The new installer defaults to an assumption that GCC is version
4.0 (or greater) and that you are using this version of the compiler set rather than
the g77 gcc combination that was typical in the past.

If you want to continue using the GCC 3.4 compiler set you have to include
on the Install command line the extra token --gcc3

For more information give the command ./Install --help

Subject: RE: [esp-r] release of ESP-r version 11.7

trying to install the new Version 11.7 I am running into a fatal error
(see attached screen shots):

As on my Linux-computer the libxml2 library is not installed, the
experimental XML output should be disabled (see screenshot-1) and
the installation of the new ESP-moduls should complete correctly -
but as far as I can recognize, the disableXML executable can not
be created (???) an the installation stops with a fatal error
(see screenshot-2).

I am not a UNIX-specialist - but what can I do to succeed in installing
the new version 11.7 on my LINUX-computer ?
