A recent question about CEN 15251...
::2) CEN standard 15251:
::The final version of CEN standard 15251 (2007) includes a special evaluation
::scheme for
::acceptable operative (= resultant) temperatures during summer in rooms
::WITHOUT any cooling
::plant (see CEN standard 15251, appendix A.2):
::The maximum operative temperature is defined as a function of "mean ambient
::air temperature",
::which must be averaged from ambient air temperatures of the last 7 days (24
::hours) -
::similar to ASHRAE standard no. 55.
::Now my question: Is a new feature in the res-module available, which is able
::to
::do such an evaluation of operative temperatures - similar to the evaluation
::scheme
::according to ISO 7730 (valid for rooms WITH a cooling plant) ?
The description of the procedure above does seem to be a post-processing
issue as ESP-r results analysis generates the raw information needed.
There are arbitrary issues in the standard which would have to be
detected (e.g. a 4 day simulation would not be allowed). If someone could
unambiguously specify the requirements of one or both of
these standards (probably not that easy a task given the horrible
language that tends to be used in such documents) then this would
be a great project for the ESP-r community to undertake!
Is anyone in the community interested in contributing some coding
for the res module? Those who are not comfortable with coding
might volunteer to contribute a "resource" to assist someone else
to do the coding?
I am certain that staff in ESRU would be
willing to help if someone could take the lead.
