ESP-r users and developers,

Last week's ESP-r release included the following note regarding a plant
component:

> - The implementation of the IEA/ECBCS Annex 42 fuel cell cogeneration
> model as a plant component has been completed. This treats both
> PEMFC and SOFC devices.

This plant component, a product of Annex 42 of the IEA's programme on Energy
Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems Programme, can be used to
simulate the performance of fuel-cell-based small-scale cogeneration (aka
micro-cogeneration or micro-CHP) embedded within buildings. Three of the
enclosed papers describe the theory, calibation, and validation of the model
while the fourth demonstrates its use to assess the performance cogeneration
devices within residential buildings.

Regards,
- Ian
