Hi Gian,
Generally speaking, ESP-r will only restart if you invoke it outwith the cfg directory.
e.g. bps -file model/cfg/model.cfg -mode script
To avoid problems like this, and indeed other potential issues, I would recommend navigating to the cfg directory before invoking ESP-r.
e.g. cd model/cfg; bps -file model.cfg -mode script
Cheers,

Subject: [esp-r] problem with starting version 13.3.8 in text/script mode
Dear ESP-r users,
I have just begun to utilize version 13.3.8 and I have a question about how to launch text or script mode in it.
I am coming from version 13.3.2, in which at the start ESP-r asks if a restart is commanded. In that case, avoiding a restart is mandatory for entering text mode or script mode, in my system at least.
In version 13.3.8, the restart is automatical (one cannot opt out of it), and in my system this prevents entering text/script mode altogether. The response of the system in that case is the same as that of 13.3.2 if restarted:
"
Model management:?> EMENU: EOF detected, error in input commands.
"
My operating system is Ubuntu Linux version 18.04.
I wonder if other people have encountered this issue and if there are tricks to circumvent it.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards
