Hi Achim,

thank you for your answer. On Bart Lomanowski's thesis setting up a shading starts with: Step 1: Create an entry in the materials database for the shade layer. I can see that there are layers already in the database, do I need to still create an entry in the material database as a first step? There is no explanation or help around apart from Bart's thesis on how to use CFC so while trying myself I have generated and error, I have selected "copy file from common to model", that modified the file CFClayers.db1.a in ESP-r/databases so now I get the following error message when I open a file:

"Failed in /opt/esru/esp-r/databases/CFClayers.db1.a: conversion of no items value in **"

What does that mean?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Arianna

Dear Arianna,

the recent changes had two points of focus:

a) Increase number of possible shading devices - now pleated blinds, roller blinds and drapes are possible

b) Implementation of standard ESP-r data base for setup of CFCs - now the external "GSLedit" is no longer necessary. The data base included in the distribution of ESP-r also features some blinds.

Setting up a CFC has not generally changed from before, I would think (however, I have not set up a CFC model from scratch since the code extensions so cannot really help, here).

Best
Achim

Betreff: [esp-r] CFC

Dear All,

I am looking into Bart Lomanowski's thesis so I can use CFC. I can see that the functionality of ESP-r have changed since the thesis was published and I would like to ask: what exactly has it changed in the latest version? Does any of you has an updated step by step procedure to implement CFC into ESP-r? Is there any existing library of shading devices? I look forward to hearing from you, thank you.

Regards.

Arianna
