Dear Arianna,
O.K., so you have an afn, are using basic zone control to heat / cool the
air points of your zones. You have heating only in the bedroom and cooling
only in the living room.
Is the cooling load due to climate (high ambient temperatures) or more due
to solar loads? I.e., if you reduce air flow (via afn), which must happen
(have you compared air change rates with doors open / closed?), and the
cooling load is due to solar loads, then it would seem fairly natural for
the cooling load to increase (less heat extraction by air change with
comparatively cool ambient air).
