Dear Arianna,
have you tried entering the full path for the climate file? Do you fire up prj (or dbs) from the /cfg folder? The notation "../dbs" only works if the program is running from the cfg folder, as far as I know. I also use (a copy of) development_branch and have not had this issue. I habitually fire up esp-r programs from the cfg-folder, however. I also use the "*clm ../dbs/climate_file" notation.
I am not sure what you mean by "the path for model" is "[..]/cfg/../dbs". Is your "name_of_file/cfg" a general notation for "name_of_model/cfg"? Anyway, a path argument can have "../" at the beginning and also in the middle. In console input, in any case. I do not know if this is O.K. for path arguments inside ESP-r, though. At a guess it is probably not a good idea.
Best
Achim

Sorry I have added one "." by mistake, the message sais actually : name_of_folder/cfg/../dbs/climate_file . When I go into database maintenance the path for model is name_of_file/cfg/../dbs can that be the error? How and where can I change that? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you,
