University of Strathclyde and Integrated Environmental Solutions Ltd (IES) have a vacancy for a Building Simulation Engineer. IES are a global supplier of Building Simulation Software and associated services. The position has initially been funded for 2 years through the UK Governments Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme but is open to suitable candidates worldwide (subject to normal UK visa regulations). The post will be based at IES headquarters in the west end of Glasgow and supported by academics from the University of Strathclyde. The KTP scheme includes a budget to support professional and personal development of the individual and is intended to benefit both the Company and Individual. The post will suit an individual with an interest in and knowledge of: building physics; building environmental performance; occupant comfort and behaviour; and building control. The aim of the initial 2 year project is to develop building control algorithms and services aimed at improved comfort and reduced energy use in buildings. The ideal candidate may have a relevant undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree in an appropriate field and relevant project or work experience.
