Dear João

be aware that CFCs can be used as external surfaces, only (I forgot to mention that).

Good luck!

Achim

Dear Achim

First of all, thanks for such short notice response!

My main concern is the behaviour of the glazing while is closed, (mainly the expected overheating of the sunspace), so that´s why I need precise measurements of the glazing/shading system. As you say i'll have to choose ( I need some more exploration).

As for the schedule I was thinking to apply the uncertainty, because the manual operation of windows is not clock sharp!
I´ll have too use a sensitivity analysis...
But I`think I´ll use the uncertainty item apllied to the entry data, mainly the dimensions of the model.

Thanks for all the tips!

Dear João

it is not quite clear, why a sliding window needs more layers in the glazing system? When open, I would expect the opening to be the main path for energy exchange (ventilation). The doubling of the glazing can most likely be neglected (if that is what your concern is). GSLedit or WIS is a question of whether you plan to use standard TMCs (then "Window" or "WIS") or CFCs (then GSLedit).

The opening schedule you will have to decide for yourself. There is no "given" such schedule.

No, the uncertainty item in ESP-r focuses on uncertainties in entry data, however not on schedules / control schemes (as far as I am aware). You could cover this by a sensitivity analysis, however (simulate several possible schedule scenarios, some of which cover possible extremes).

Achim

Betreff: [esp-r] Defining a sliding window in ESP-r

Good morning

I´m building a model of a sunspace and the correspondent adjacent space. The sunspace has sliding windows which I have some difficulty in defining.
First because I need to have more definition in the layers that compose the glazing system, I´dont know which third party tool to use, GSLedit, WIS, or other more precise.
Second because I´don´t know which schedule of openings to apply. Ok, there will be a defined operation according to the occupancy, but I´would like to add some uncertainty in the operation of it. Does the Uncertainty item in ESP-r deals with questions like this?

Thanks in advance
João Santos
