Ciao Gian Luca, grazie per la risposta!

I had found the same path that you mentioned through "export current model" and then "radiance" however there is a problem. When I open the radiance desktop I create a file .rcf and then create a scene interactively or silently (I tried both options). I choose daylight factors and select a zone.
I choose as a surface the base, I create a grid inside, I choose a scene name (I gave it the name 1 for simplicity), a root name (I gave it the same name 1) and I get the message: Problem detected while opening 1.sky and problem detected while opening 1.rif., then I proceed with the simulation, I get the two same error messages and the radiance desktop shuts.

Does anyone know what the problem may be? Please great people, let me know.

Regards,
Arianna

Hi Arianna,
I am far from being an ESP-r expert or a Radiance expert, but I'll
give you the information I have hoping it might be useful.

The menu steps to get daylight factors with Radiance from ESP-r is
short: browse/simulate -> simulation -> visual impact -> daylight
factors.

I think that you should install Radiance in Cygwin from the source.

I remember that the first ESP-r precompiled version for Cygwin came
with Radiance included, so it is likely that the compilation of
Radiance for Cygwin is still possible. Said that, I can't assure it
will work, because my experience with Cygwin is that compilations from
sources often fail.

I remember that when I installed Radiance for Linux it was crucial
that the Radpath Environment variable was specified in the bash
configuration file (/etc/.bashr), as recommended I think in the
Radiance's Readme file.

Best regards

Gian Luca Brunetti
