Trouble after installing esp-r on Linux Ubuntu 11.4

I get the following error message when trying to run esp-r:

wachenfeldtb at wachenfeldtb-Precision-M4600:~/trunk/src$ esp-r &
[3] 30873
wachenfeldtb at wachenfeldtb-Precision-M4600:~/trunk/src$ display :0 doesn't
know font -*-lucida-medium-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-* ...
2nd choice font 6x12ucida-medium-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-* has not been found
so quitting.

Does anyone have any idea on what to do to solve this?
