Hi Arianna

what are the U-values of your floor and roof, respectively? Have you done a simple calculation "DT * U" for both and compared these? Also, the first four cm of insulation is the most effective. So, your 40% reduction need not be totally off.

I would like to ask you to please help, I am modelling a solid floor and by using the monthly ground profile for the boundary condition of the floor ESP-r gives me unrealistic results for the heat loss (the heat loss through the ground floor is double the heat loss through the ceiling). Moreover, if I insulate the ground floor with 4 centimetres of EPS, the heating load is cut by 40% which is even more unrealistic. I have tried with the BASESIMP method but it does not seem to work. Please help.
