The ESP-r Cookbook has been expanded!
Chapter 9 now includes a discussion of the various results save options in the simulator
including a discussion about the directives that can go into a model input.xml file to
drive the creation of CSV and XML output reports. There are examples of save zero,
save five and save level six reports.
Chapter 10 now includes a review of the performance metrics that are available
in the results analysis module as well as the different reports and graph types
that are available. It discusses the menu structure (where to go to get what type
of information) as well as some hints on improving your methods for discovering
what is really happening in a model. There are examples of energy balances
(and what each of the entries mean) as well as sample outputs from timestep
listings and the monthly reports (and what each of those columns mean).
You can find this on the ESRU web pages at http://www.strath.ac.uk/esru Look
under Software -> ESP-r for the user's guide. (Note: the publications page
still has the Nov 2008 version PDF file)
Future updates will include the treatment of linear thermal bridges and
how to script the recovery of selected performance metrics via the results
analysis module. And if there is a topic you would really like to see
handled in the Cookbook send me a message and perhaps it will
be possible.
Regards, Jon Hand
