Summary of changes in the ESP-r Cookbook
A new release of the ESP-r Cookbook has been released.
Several chapters have been updated to reflect changes in ESP-r
and new topics have been added. Below is a summary:
Chapter 6 Climate data now includes a discussion of best-fit
periods and seasonal scaling as well as revised procedures for
importing EPW files.
Chapter 8 Thermophysical resolution has been extended to
cover shading and insolation predictions as well as view-factor
calculations and radiant sensors (and there is a new ESP-r exemplar
that you can work with).
Chapter 9 Preparation for simulation now discusses the use of simulation
parameter sets with a new section on Integrated Performance Views.
Chapter 14 Working procedures has been substantially re-written
and includes new sections on computational infrastructure, role of support
staff and simulation tool selection (for groups using multiple tools).
Chapter 15 Model quality now includes an expanded section on
interpreting model contents reports and a new section on
semantic checks of model performance predictions.
The new topics should be of particular interest to any group
who is seriously using simulation to address real-time design
issues. Ideas should be applicable to a range of simulation
tool (and slightly paranoid practitioners).
Look on the http://www.strath.ac.uk/esru/ software page....

user's guide link (a bit over 5Mb PDF file). Note that the
Korean and Italian versions have not yet been updated.
