[esp-r] climate dates

we are two students of Brescia's University, Pischetola Roberta and Nicola 
Della Grazia. 
We are ESP-r's new users. We're using the X11 ESP-r release of Linux 
(Ubuntu). 

We have already read Cookbook, but we have some problems:
- how can we input climate date's file .epw downloaded from http://apps1.eere.
energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/cfm/weather_data3.cfm ?
-  how can we input climate date's file .xls ?
