The following question is probably indicative of a model that does have a mis-match between
the number of surfaces in the various zone geometry files and the master list of
connections. This can cause null characters for names of surfaces.

It is not clear what specific actions were taking when 'checking topology'
but this user should make a backup copy of the model and then in the topology menu
select the option to clear all topology and then re-establish it. Then
go into the geometry and attribution menu for each of the zones and check
that the listed surface names have been filled in correctly.

And, it will also be helpful to generate a QA report of the model and check the
details included in that report. To get this report go to Model Management ->
browse edit -> QA reporting

If the version of ESP-r is older it might also be worth getting one of the newer ESP-r
versions from the ESRU web site (http://www.esru.strath.ac.uk) downloads page
for ESP-r.

Subject: [esp-r]  Zone Construction Problem

Hi Everyone,

I am constructing a 4 room (4 zone building). It is in the form of square 100 m^2. So there are 2 walls in each room which are common to other rooms. I have defined all the surfaces and vertices correctly, I have checked the topology also. But when I go back to the zone construction it shows kind of square bracket instead of wall name and says surface topology incorrect. I have tried it couple of time from scratch, but it shows same square bracket (this square bracket some times come in zone two , some times in zone 3). I was wondering if anyone knows hows to resolve that issue

Thanks
Sidd
