[esp-r] imaginary surface

 Hello ESP-r users,
I have a question about the materials.
 Is it possible to separate a big volume in different parts by inserting an
"imaginary" surface ?
My objective is to analyze a big room in different parts, but I think, I
need an "imaginary" surface to do that.
 Do you have any suggestion ?, thanks
