[esp-r] Re: Location of database files

Hi Anton,

ESP-r defines the default paths to the system databases using a file
called 'default', which is located in the esp-r installation directory.
If you're building ESP-r from source and have used the '-d' argument to
specify the installation target (that is "./Install -d /opt/espr-11.4"),
the installation script will customize this file to reflect your
particular installation, and prj will use these files by default. And
you can further alter the default file to suit your needs. In a handful
of locations, ESP-r hardcodes default paths to /usr/esru, but these are
typically well-off the beaten path. If you encounter such a case, let us
know.

The preceding paragraph only applies to installations compiled from an
svn working copy. The ready-to-go installers on the ESRU website expect
to be installed in /usr/esru, necessitating a symbolic link from
/usr/esru to your installation folder.

Subject: [esp-r] Location of database files

Hi,

Our shared esp-r installation is in /opt/espr-11.4 but I notice that prj
often looks for databases in /usr/esru. Is there any way to have prj
find the databases using an environment variable, symbolic link, or
other means?

Thanks,

Anton
