It is concievable that, given a good description of what
were the contents of the EWY files that it would be possible
to convert such files into a format which ESP-r could read.
And EWY files might not be in a convertable/readable format or
might not be available for testing etc.

An alternative is that ESP-r can deal with EPW climate file
which was jointly developed for EnergyPlus and ESP-r. There
are several thousand EPW files available for locations around
the world.

If these unnamed other simulation tools are able
to import EPW files than the different tools would be
working with the same weather data.

Currently about 25 simulation tools work with the
EPW files.

Subject: [esp-r] UK weather files

Dear ESP-r users!

I am trying to compare the results from three different common UK whole
building simulation programs.

I would therefore need one weather file compatible with all three softwares.

The problem is that ESP has no weather file included, which the other two
use!

I would be very glad if one of you could give me some advice on how to get
one of the following weather files for ESP.

            Bristol EWY

            Birmingham EWY

Kew EWY

            Heathrow EWY

            Norwich EWY

            Sheffield EWY

            Manchester EWY

            Aberporth EWY

Thank's in advance for your help!

Best Wishes
