[myplace-announce] Reminder - Myplace unavailable on Wednesday 20 August 2014

Dear Colleagues,



This is a 4-week advance reminder that Myplace will be unavailable on Wednesday 20 August 2014 (from 8am until 4pm) to allow the 'session change' for the new academic year, i.e. making the 2013-2014 server an archive and making 2014-2015 the live server.



Note that information about all planned unavailability<http://support.myplace.strath.ac.uk/display/MS/Planned+Myplace+Downtime> is always available on our support site linked from the top 'About' menu on Myplace, and takes into account dates such as exams/resits and the beginning and end of term which varies by department/school.



As with previous years, we are running Myplace Workshops<https://bookings.strath.ac.uk/courseDetails.asp?course=M14W> over the summer period to present a summary of new features, including the change to the use of Turnitin for online assignments<http://classes.myplace.strath.ac.uk/mod/forum/view.php?id=606915>.  Staff will also have the opportunity to work on their own classes with support staff on hand.
