STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT
Notice for University of Strathclyde Staff Re Myplace downtime for new academic year session change on Wednesday 21 August 2013 8am-4pm

Dear Colleague,

Please note that Myplace will be unavailable from 8am until 4pm on Wednesday 21 August 2013 to allow the session change for the new academic year 2013-214.

>From 4pm on Wednesday 21 August, Myplace will be available again for general use and will reflect the new academic year 2013-2014 as the current academic session.

Versions of classes from previous years, including 2012-2013, will continue to be available as an archive under the relevant academic year tab when users login.

As previously announced, online assignment types for 2013-2014 have been consolidated into 2 types as a result of feedback from students and staff: http://support.myplace.strath.ac.uk/updates/2013/06/20/myplace-online-assignments-have-changed-at-the-university-of-strathclyde-for-2013-2014/

Also as previously announced, the content of 2013-2014 versions of classes is based on the content of the previous year’s version (2012-2013) as of 6am on Tuesday 18 June when classes were rolled over. I.e. any changes made to the content of a 2012-2013 page after 6am on Tuesday 18 June will not have been copied to the 2013-2014 version of the page. If you need assistance copying over additional content from previous year’s classes, please contact us for support at any time.

Please note that the rollover and session change for the new academic year have been scheduled to allow staff early access to classes for the next academic year in order to prepare, also taking into account the exam resit diet and the start of term for the School of Education in August.

If you have any questions about Myplace or the session change in August, please contact Learning Technologies at any time. Students should be directed to the IT Helpdesk for Myplace support - details are below.

Best Wishes
