570-578 in lib/esru_x.c (two instances) and also increase the
string length from 39(corresponding to lucida) to 42 in the
string copy function which should look like
(strncpy(font_4,"-*-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-*",42);)
and recompiling (remember to make clean to remove object files
before you Install)<br>

This is probably the GTK interface version of ESP-r?<br>

It is looking for a font to use. It does not find the main
font or the 2nd choice font. Because of this<br>
it does not have sufficient resources to work.<br>
<br>
The lucidia fonts tend to be standard on most
Linux/Unix/OSX machines. This machine does not<br>
seem to have them. Using the package manager for the
operating system check if there are<br>
additional font sets that can be installed for the X11
environent - one of them might have lucida.<br>
<br>
Perhaps someone else might have further details about
which font set to look for?<br>

I downloaded the source code of esp-r11.11. And, as
follows was done and it compiled.<br>

$ sudo ./Install -d /opt/esru --gcc4<br>

It is not possible to start by displaying the error when
starting. Please teach the coping process.<br>

display :0.0 doesn't know font
-*-lucida-medium-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-* ...<br>
2nd choice font 6x12ucida-medium-r-*-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
has not been found so quitting.<br>

It is my first experience though have compiled many times
by me up to now.<br>
