<P class=MsoNormal>Dear Jon, <o:p></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal>I am currently comparing two models for single storey houses
built in ESP-r with different construction types, however I am having similar
results for the heating load. Both models have a solid concrete floor with
direct ground coupling and my feeling is that there is something imprecise in
the way I have modelled the ground floor with ESP-r. As a boundary condition for
the concrete floor, I have tried using the ground monthly profile first, that
gave me a very high heating load. I have then tried to add to the composition of
the floor 3 layers of ground of 20cm each and the heating load was reduced but I
couldn’t see much difference in the heating load of the different construction
types. Finally I received a suggestion from Ian to use BASESIMP. When I apply
one of the BASESIMP correlation the energy use drops to zero. Can anyone explain
why and is there any explanation available on how to use the facility? Thank you
in advance, <o:p></o:p></P>
