Dear Axel, dear all,<br>
sorry for the short explanation.<br>I paste here the e-mail I sent to Jon yesterday and his answers.<br><br><br>
We (at ISE) tried several configurations.<br>
<br>
Actually we installed the ESP-r version 11.8 on a Debian machine with 64bits.<br>
We compile it both with the suggested library gcc4.1.2 and the gcc4.3. In both cases we have problems.<br>
<br>
The problems are:<br>
<br>
1) When I go into "composition", "construction materials", and I click
on one surface composition (for example "external wall") I can not see
in the graphical interface the description of the different layer that
compose the construction I selected (I have a line of several squares).
But I have to say that in the ".con" file I have the correct values for
thickness, conductivity, density ecc.. The problem seem to be in the
graphical interface.<br><br>"Jon answer: The construction materials has probably already been fixed but has
not yet made it into the development_branch (hopefully any day now)."<br>
<br>
2) When I open the ".cfg" file I am not able to click on the "image
control" to change the view point (nothing happens) and the same I can
not "capture" the picture of the model (something fails after 2 seconds
and the interface closed).<br>
<br>
3) Last problem is in the *DATABASES description. I don't know why but
Esp "automatically" inserts in the ".cfg" file of my model a new line
in the *DATABASES list. The line is the following:<br>
<br>
*mscldb /usr/local/esru/esp-r/<div class="im">databases/mscomp.db1<br>
<br>
I never see this file and I also do not need it (I guess). But if I leave it I receive this massage:<br>
"Unknown entry format...<br>
*DATABASES<br>
<br>
I can click on "continue" and aswer yes to continue reading the configuration.<br>
<br>
Now, if a delete it everything works good. But ESP-r after a change in the model try to create this "*mscldb" link again.<br>
<br>
<br>
We also try to install the ESP-r version 11.7 (using gcc4.3).<br>
<br>
We had again the problem number 2) but not the problem number 1). Moreover we have the following problem:<br>
<br>
4) When we enter in the "database maintainance", "optical properties",
"browse/edit" and than I click on a Optical property set I received
strange lines instead of the correct graphs representing the Direct
transmission, the reflection and the absorption of the optical set.<br><br>"JON answer: The drawing of the optical properties is also probably a 64 bit issue that you are the first to notice."<br>
<br>
<br>
I think it is all. I hope that you can understand what I wrote and that you can help us solving this problem.<br>
Please let me know if something is unclear.<br>
Best regards<br>
<br>
