There are currently a number of revisions to the interaction with the materials databases
which are about to go into the development branch. And most of the exemplar models
have been recently revised and are about to be updated in the development_branch.

This might correct the issue described in the email below.

One thing to check - there is a binary version of materials as well as an ASCII version
of materials databases. If you look in C:\Esru\esp-r\databases you will see constr.db1 and
constr.db1.a as well as constr.db2 and constr.db2.a. Check your model and see if
you are using a materials file which ends with an 'a'. If not, use WordPad and edit the
model configuration file line which starts with *prm and add a '.a' to the
end of the file name.

Also check and see if there is a file starting with the name 'fort' in your model folder.
If the project manager forgets a file name then it may write the changed data to
a so-called fort file (which is actually the materials database).
Subject: [esp-r] fail to modify material db

Dear all

Currently I'm using ESP-r native windows version 11.7(4333).

To modify material, construction, and optical db for a certain project, I usually open example model,

and copy default dbs, modify them, and save the change, including save the model after changing db.

Recently I found that while construction and optical db is well modified and remained as they were modified,

there's problem in saving any changes of material db.

I tried various approaches such as altering the db path that the path doesn't include ' '(space), or using a new model

instead of example model. But the results were same. I fail to modify material db.

Are there any one who experienced similar challenge?

FYI, I attached the material db file. If any of you have comment on this, it would be very appreciated.

Regards

Mark Kim
