The only difference is the cooling coil inlet water temperature being 5, 10, 15 degC. Control was set to keep the zone dBT at 27 degc for all zone by controlling the air movement volume through the cooling coil. This was done to understand the dehumidification capability of a typical cooler and the resulting zone RH. The simulation result confirmed that the lower temperature cooling coil setup reduces the zone RH, compared to higher temperature cooling coil setup. Unfortunately, the dehumidification energy as outputted from the "energy delivered" summary (enquire about -> energy delivered in the Result analyser) shows "0" for all zones. This also the case for the output of the time plot graph. ESP-r is V13.3.11 but this is also the case with V13.2.6. Is there anyone who can help me out? I can control humidity and get latent load output when using ?ideal control? by enabling humidity control. In this ?ideal control? with humidity control enabled, the humidity control stops working if I change the target temperature from dBT to zone resultant temperature. At the moment, the only way I can get humidity control and latent load output is ?ideal control? using dBT as the target temperature. As I have wrote in my previous mail, I can make a ?plant? which affects the humidity as intended. The main problem is that the latent load is always ?0?. At the moment, the only way that I can get the latent load is by outputting the plant?s ?input? and ?output? specific humidity, mass flow rate and using a spreadsheet to calculate the latent load. The result of the calculation gives me confidence that the simulation itself is behaving as it should. The psychometric chart output (of the result analysis) also shows the expected result. The only problem is that the latent load is ?0?. I have attached a link to the simple model that I made. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/683iczt7iacbsei/AAAlmwjYb8_OEEKE2AO5NqNma?dl=0 Best Regards, Hiroi Nishimatsu From: esp-r-bounces at lists.strath.ac.uk On Behalf Of achim.geissler Sent: Thursday, February 18, 2021 4:24 AM To: ESP-r List Subject: [esp-r] Re: Unable to get Dehumidification Energy Hi there, it?s been a while, but did you activate humidity in your zone control? To avoid dumping simulation output files in a model?s cfg folder, we now write these files to a tmp folder (../tmp relative to the cfg folder). While this new folder now exists for all exemplar models, it will need to be created for any existing model before simulation. You may also need to make some changes to any scripts you may be using. The call is due to expire soon, on October 20th 2021, and its web link is https://www.polimi.it/nc/en/faculty-and-staff/calls-and-competitions/calls-and-competitions-for-researchers/competitions-for-temporary-positions-fse-react-eu-pon-ricerca-e-innovazione/details/?tx_wfqbe_pi1%5BID%5D=14 The candidate we are looking for should have an interdisciplinary competence at the crossroad between Building Technology (including construction methods) and Building Physics. The academic landscape in Italy is structured in disciplinary sectors, and the call in question will take place in the sector of Architectural Technology. The title of the research to be conducted is ?Innovative passive strategies for improving environmental comfort in the built environment - between formal and informal?. The objective of the research will be to verify and transfer innovative mixes of passive environmental solutions from informal hot-climate contexts to industrialized temperate-climate ones, and vice-versa. The experimentations will include monitoring and calibration activities based on existing case studies, among which there are buildings by the architect Francis K?r? in Burkina Faso. Part of the activity will be performed within the research group of the H2020 project ABC21 (www.abc21.eu), coordinated by L. Pagliano and S. Erba. The three years of duration of the research would include six months of collaboration with an enterprise operating in the sector of mechanization and control of openings for natural ventilation for night summer cooling. The researcher is expected to work at the DASTU Department of the Politecnico, in Milan, except for the six-month collaboration with the enterprise. I would be very grateful if you could spread the word about this call to potentially fit candidates. Thank you very much, in advance Best regards Gian Luca Brunetti Arch.
