Achim and Marco, thank you for your responses.

Do you know if there is guide or information on how to setup a liquid flow network in ESP-r?

Achim, at some point, I might considering modeling an Ice Storage tank, which is based on phase change of water. As I understand this is not something ESP-r can currently address right?

Jim

Dear list,

Is anyone familiar with efforts to model a chilled water storage tank system in ESP-r and, ideally, its interaction with a chilled water system?

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Dear Dimitrios,

have you tried using one of the available water storage tanks? I haven't
tried it, but I would suspect that the tank models for hot water can
basically be used with cold water, also. Or do you mean a phase change tank?
That would be something else, of course. I am not aware of such a model in
ESP-r

Best
Achim

dear Dimitros,

there are a number of models in Esp-r, basically you could use the stratified tank models, basically there are three of them, one without internal exchangers, one with one exchanger and the last with two internal heat exchangers. I extensively used the models for hot water, but they can be used without problems with chilled water since the model deals with thermal stratification.
