Dear Filip,

sadly, I do not have a solution for this problem but can second it (so to say). I had successfully installed ESP-r on 10.09 last June and it worked. From September onwards, I received the same error as you describe below and have not been able to find out what the problem is. The error happens in the interactive version and in text mode for prj. However, bps runs fine in text mode (I can run models but not really edit them).

My research in the web seems to indicate that

- it may be a solution to try and get gfortran working with clang (the native C on current OS X)

- the basic problem possibly is rooted somewhere in different library versions due to the clang dependencies

I would also be very interested in a solution to this issue.

Anyone, out there? Lars?

Best

Achim

Betreff: [esp-r] ESP-r on Mac OSX 10.10 Yosemite

Dear all,

have you got any experience with the installation of ESP-r on Mac OS X 10.10 or 10.09?

I usually got result like: successfully compile, successfully run Project Manager then become error like this:

Program received signal SIGABRT: Process abort signal.

Backtrace for this error:

#0 0x11e07cb4c

#1 0x11e07d06f

#2 0x7fff8cbe2f19

My last successful compilation and running of ESP-r was on Mac OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion.

Thank you. Regards,

Filip Jordan

P.S.: I am recently trying on following configuration:

- MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008), 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM

- Mac OSX 10.10.1

- Xcode 6.1.1

- Command Line Tools for Xcode 6.1.1

- MacPorts 2.3.3

- GCC48 4.8.4_0 with gfortran in /opt/local/bin installed by MacPorts

- X11 XQuartz 2.7.7 (xorg-server 1.15.2)

- ESP-r release 11.11 installed in /opt/esru/ for compilation modified ./Install (replaced "lib64" with “lib” for X11)
