Hello

Has ESP-r finally been validated according to EN 15265 and EN 15255?
If yes, where do I find the documentation?

PS: Found some mails from Georgios and Gunter regarding this topic in the archive, se below, but did not find any documentation or confirmation regarding the validation.

Best regards,
Bjørn Jenssen

Dear Gunter,

I have worked on the ESP-r's modelling of the 15265 tests during the last
month or so. I have completed the tests and it was necessary to develop
specific code to deal with two parts of the specifications:
1) to impose global solar radiation on vertical west facing surfaces
2) to account for time shifting of all schedules (including heating and
cooling setpoints) between summer and winter.

The code is only in my branch and it will probably be in the next official
release of ESP-r.
However, to complete the tests I am puzzled with another point in the
specifications and here is where I need your advice (or the advice of someone
who is familiar with these specifications):

-I can not figure out the optical properties for ESP-r based on what I read in
this Standard. There are two types of glazing (shaded double and just double)
and the Standard defines transmittance, absorptance and reflectance of the
window glazing components plus the g-value. However, it also says that all
these solar parameters are considered as independet of the solar angle!!! I
will have to use WIS or WINDOW5 to get the angular data for ESP-r but I am
not sure how to interpret the specifications. Can you advise me on this (or
better: can you send me the angular data for these glazing systems)? These
tests seem to be very sensitive on the type of optics used.

If I figure out the details on the optics I can make sure that the next
version of ESP-r includes the required code for these tests and that ESRU
will publish a report for your needs.

However, I am not aware if there is anybody working on the 15255 (the other
Standard that you mention).

Regards,
Georgios
