In the source src/manual/OS/Linux are detailed instructions for which packages
are needed. (Ubuntu_for_esp-r.rtf) Perhaps you missed out on one of the font packages as well as
instructions for rebuilding the list of fonts (actually just reboot usually does it).

Subject: [esp-r] Font error when installing Esp-r development branch r9524 in Ubuntu 12.04LTS

Dear list,

I installed the Esp-r development branch revision 9524 in an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS machine (X11 graphics) however when I try to invoke the project manager I get the following error:

Display :0.0 doesn’t know font -*helvetica-medium-r*…….

I tried installing several free ttf fonts from the software center however that did not solve my problem. Any ideas how to fix my problem?

I had a similar problem in the past, however at that time 'lucida' fonts with a length of 39 chars was used and my problem was solved when I replaced 'lucida' with 'helvetica' and '39' with '42'. As I see in r9524, 'helvetica' and '42' are now defaults in /lib/esru_x.c.

Kind regards,
