Dear Arianna,

In control file you can define different day types and in each day type
different periods in day. This means that in theory you can have one
set-point for every hour of every day. But practically you can't define 8760
control for a building. If it is important for you to keep the 24 hours
profile for set-point temperature, you can divide the year to 3 or 5 seasons
and for each season specify a different set point (depends on the season if
cooling system needed or heating or both or neither).

On the other hand you can define your set point for cooling and heating for
whole year (1 day type) and 24 hours. However, I am not sure what is the
benefit of having different set-point for every hour? The HVAC system always
have one set point for cooling and another for heating unless they are
setback control which changes for night and day as well.

Hope that helps,

Hi All,

my previous email may not be that clear so I will try to be more specific. I
would like to use a set point temperature that varies throughout the day.
Can I do that in ESP-r? Please let me know,

thank you,

Arianna

Subject: [esp-r] temperature set point

Dear All,

I would like to use some monitored internal temperature as a temperature set
point to calculate the heating load. I have daily averages for the month of
January at the moment, do you know if there is a way in ESP-r to do that? I
may be able to find some hourly data . Please let me know,

Thank you

Arianna
