You are using an OLD version of ESP-r. I in a separate email I will send a link to an installer for a newer version
of ESP-r that has been compiled for W7 as well as the current version of the ESP-r Cookbook.
There are also links that I can send you for some video tutorials if you let me know.
If you have specific questions the ESP-r list is a good place to ask questions.
Regards, Jon Hand

Hi Stefano,
>From my own experience, I found that the best way to learn the use of ESP-r is to work methodically through the cookbook, but also to use the exemplar models as much as you can so you understand what everything is actually doing in your models. As I understand it there are a wealth of very helpful "how to" videos for ESP-r online, I'm sure someone better informed than I can link you. If you encounter any specific problems or have any questions that you cannot find answers for, or even any suggestions for developments, that is what this forum is here for; I can say from experience that these guys are exceptionally helpful.
Welcome to the ESP-r community, and good luck!
Regards,
Andy Cowie

Hi,
My name is Stefano Zaccaroni, currently full-time student at University of Bolonia ( UNIBO ), Italy.
I'm actually working on my final project with Researcher Marinosci Cosimo. This project is about implementing Esp_R for studies related to mechanical ventilation in building.
Unfortunalty, I've been founding several difficulties on using ESP-R. This is why I guess that using the mailing list would be useful for me.
Naturaly, before writing my issues, i wanted to present myself.
I'm actually using both the ESP-R Cookbook Exercises Book and the Cookbook Guide Book.
I'm using a version for native windows ( v11 7 4333 )
My current version of windows is WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64 bit.
Build information:
- SVN Source: development_branch at r4333 (locally modified)
- Platform: i686:MINGW32_NT-5.0:1.0.11(0.46/3/2)
- Compilers: gcc/g++/g77
- Graphics Library: GTK
- XML output: Unsupported
I didn't download the ESP-R software directly from your website, because my Professor passed it to me with a precompiled installer file ( basically an exe file )
My current expectation is to learn how to use basically ESP-R, implementing it for some mechanical ventilation studies for my final project.
Thank you for your time and help,
Stefano
