Hi,
this is what I have got in my .bashrc file:
PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/esru/esp-r/bin:${PATH}
RAYPATH=.:/usr/local/lib/ray
the RAYPATH seems all right, I have changed and shortened the file name but it doesn't seem to make a big difference. There are no .opt nor .oct files into my rad folder. I will try to look for examples. Let me know if you have any other idea,
thank you,
Arianna

Hi!
This is probably not related to file name length. Radiance has its origins in Unix environments, so it did not inherit those DOS conventions. However, there is a DEFINE in the sources limiting the length of strings in general. It should be 128 characters in current releases. So you should be far from reaching that limit.
Are you sure that the RAYPATH environment variable is set correctly on your system, and that it includes "." (the current directory)?
Cheers, Lars.
