There is an example of a tree being represented as a collection of obstruction
blocks in the simple exemplar model bld_simple_shd.cfg

There is one rectangular block representing the trunk and a six sided non-rectangular
obstruction representing the tree itself. What is shown is an evergreen tree.

A tree with no leaves would be a very different shape and so an alternative
set of obstruction blocks would be needed - as they can be rotated and tilted
one could build up quite detailed representations if required.

Subject: [esp-r] modelling trees

Dear All,

has anybody tried to model the shading effect of trees with ESP-r? If so, what would be the best way to proceed? I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
Arianna
