[esp-r] Re: xterm does not open

Arianna,

The cygwin environment I work on does not shut down xwin after I log out 
of cygwin I get the same problem when I then log back on. The work 
around is

1. From cygwin command line type ps
2. Note the process id for xwin
3. Type kill -9 process id no.
4. Type startxwin.exe

This should restore the xterm window
