Hello / Bonjour ESP-r support,
I have temporarily reduced the number of zones from ~50 to 26. The View
- Wireframe Control function now works.
My time-line is the following: I hope to have
this apartment building modelled ASAP:) and be "spitting-out" results by next
week.
I don't want to unnecessarily complicate your life but having you upload an
installer(s) etc.. for a recent build. When do you expect the new 11.9 to be
released?

"Hang-up" on Windows XP cont'd ...
I have also been experiencing another "hang-up" when I begin to edit
the Multicon.db3 database. At the début , I successfully used the Add / Delete
/ Copy / Invert options in the construction database command. Once I begin to
create / copy multiple new constructions in the Multicon.db3 database that's
when I begin to run into my "hang-up" problem. The "hang-up" problem arises when
I leave the construction database option and go to run "Integrated Simulation".
If I paste an original Multicon.db3 database into the Esru\esp-r\databases
folder then I am able to "Integrated Simulation" for the model. The downfall is
I loose all the constructions that I have personally constructed. Any ideas? Any
fixes?
Cordially,
Ian

There have been a number of patches to the Native Windows version since 11.8
was released. I can upload an installer for a recent build which may be more
stable for larger models (if you are in a hurry) and shortly there will be a new
release 11.9.
We have noticed that ESP-r is less stable on 64 bit operating systems. I note
the
limited memory on your machine - would you have a chance to try
this model on a computer with more RAM?
ESP-r can also be run within the Cygwin emulation environment on Windows XP
machines and you might consider that as an option and under Cygwin you
also have access to the alternative X11 ESP-r interface.

Subject: [esp-r] Wireframe Control causes ESP-r "Hang-up" on Windows XP
Hello Dear ESP-r Community,
I am running the ESP-r version 11.8 on system Windows XP (2002) with Service
Pack 3.
Computer: Pentium 4 2.60 GHz with 512 Mo of RAM
I would like to Hide some Zones with the Wireframe Control but I am now unable
to use this drop down menu. The View - "Wire Frame Control" drop-down menu
initially worked, but now when I click on the option the ESP-r software
"hangs-up" and does not do anything. When ESP-r "hangs-up" under in the
following situation and the only way "out" is to terminate ESP-r from running:
This "bug" seems only to appear after working with a large model (~50 zone
apartment building) for a significant amount of time. The other functions in the
menu function without a problem ... (View Rotate-Left, Rotate-Right, Rotate-UP
and Rotate-Down). There is a warning in the Dialogue Box which states: "SURADJ
WARNING".
Any suggestions or recommendations of how to fix the problem?
Cordially,
Ian
