And you can also export comma or tab separated or space column data from
within the results analysis application (res)- essentially you are re-directing
the reporting from the application feedback to a file.  You select the columns
of data (up to 20-24 columns) you want in the order you want.  Anything
you can graph should be also available in the timestep reports menu.

The easiest option is probably the one involving xml.
You can use the attached file (insert in the .cfg folder of your model) and initially output  the csv to a dictionary.
Then from the dictionary choose only the  variables you need (as in the attached .xml file).
Their values shall be exported to the  .csv file, for most of the  save options you choose.
