There is no string 'endfile' in the ESP-r source branch so it is not clear where the
error is happening. A error message 'truncation failed' is a new type that
has not been reported earlier.
One way to isolate this error is to be running the project manager
in a debug environment such as DDD or gdb. That should identify where the
error occurred. To do this the Install needs to say yes to the option for
debug symbols (this preserves the object files and symbol tables needed by
the debug tool). It might also be useful to include a --extra-debug in the
Install command (if using GCC 4.1 or newer).
For example, a recent message from a user indicated the line in the source
code where the fault was reported. This allowed the logic to be identified
within a few hours and corrected.
What would also help is to be explicit in the description of the facility which
is being used when a crash happen (e.g. which menu, which dialog, what
action was taken just prior to the crash). This will allow others to
attempt the same task to see if the problem happens on other
computers.
Lastly - if you are working on a 64 bit computer and operating system
you are working beyond the cutting-edge of the ESP-r community. Updating
ESP-r to work in 64 bit environments is currently work-in-progress.

Subject: [esp-r] error in saving file
Hello friends
As I am trying to create any new model in ESP-r running in linux environment, I am getting the following error and the ESP-r window is closing.
error
endfile: truncation failed in endfile
Why is this error coming? Is this some problem with disk space or will downloading and installing ESP-r again will help?
Looking forward to a reply.
Thanks
Chandrayee
