Dear ESRUs,
in respect of energy efficincy the indoor quality of buildings can be
evaluated according to EN 15251.
This evaluation includes thermal comfort in winter and thermal comfort
in summer - and some additional criteria, e.g. indoor air quality,
lighting quality, etc.
Concerning the thermal comfort EN 15251 proposes room based (zonal)
thermal simulations for the prediction of room temperatures.
But EN 15251 requires thermal simulation tools (like ESP -r), which
have been validated according to European Standards EN 15265 and EN 15255
(see chapter 8.3.1 of EN 15251:2007).
Due to these requirements of EN 15251 my questions:
- Has ESP-r been validated to these test cases in EN 15265 and EN 15255 ?
- In case of is an official validation certificate for ESP-r available
from ESRU ?
Your answers might be interesting for several users of ESP-r, which are
included into certification processes for sustainable buildings.
Kind regards,
Gunter
