[esp-r] Re: Different Construciton Runs

A recent question related to parametric studies...

There are several possible approaches to altering constructions.

If you want to globally change one construction for another and have
the project manager manage the process there is a search-replace
option in the project manger. This search-replace can be restricted
to particular zones if needed.

One variant of search-replace involves what are termed 'anchors'.
An anchor is a named list of surface e.g. 'heavy_exterior' which
has 50 surfaces in the model linked to that name. Then you can
apply an action to all surfaces linked to that anchor.

In planning your approach think about how many variations you
need to create and if you want to preserve the past. The 'model variant'
facility is able to preserve existing files by creating new files related
to the type of data you want to change.

If there are only a few variants, some people just create each of
the zone construction file variants they need for the model and
use different model configuration files pointing the the subset of
files for that case. Other people write scripts which drive the
interface to to search-replace actions.

I knew one person who had 600 constructions in their database
and used scripts to systematically revise the model scores of
times.

Of course, scripts that are not correct can cause great havoc. And
scripts can break if the interface changes.

Thank you.

So I need different zone-files for different constructions.

Before I do more mistakes I rather ask...

I want to do runs with these models
with differnt shadings
and differnt air-change-rates, too.
(And differnt Climate-files,
but this should solve the shell-script.)

Is it enough to change the path to the shading-file
and to the operation-file in cfg-file?

Or have I to update more files to do so, to.
