In cases where the Linux and Native Windows version do no agree
on calculations it would be good to send the model (with appropriate
notes) to ESRU so that we could investigate the differences.

Hi Achim,

thanks for the tip, but the first edge is already the bottom-horizontal, the next edge is a vertical...

looks like a problem of the windows version. After Georgius' tip i used a linux-version and there it worked.

Maybe ish uses a part of radiance for the calculation, whose esp-r supprot isn't comprised under windows yet...?

Best regards,
Heiko

Hi Heiko,

checking the mail you quote I noticed one important point seems to be missing:

The shaded surface should have a horizontal "first edge" (edge between first two vertices). Its best to have this first edge be the lower one, in addition.

Regards,

Achim

Subject: [esp-r] ISH problem: ignored (X face of...)

Hello,

after trying to set up a new modell with obstructions i expirienced the follwoing error:

for every surface calculation i get an error: Block ObstrBlock ignored (X face of Surf-5 ) @ time ...

There are no shading results.

The error occurs not only at complex models with tiny spaces between obstructions and zone-surfaces but although if i just draw a new zone as a box an put one obstruction in front of it.... (see screenshot)

To make it even more difficult: if i put an obstruction in front of an exepmlar project, the callculation works fine...

i red the posting from jon (08.11.2006) about shading but the hints didn't resolve my problem...

Thanks for any ideas!

Best regards,

Heiko Wöhrle
